Jammu, October 04: After the transfer of Commissioner,JMS, M.Raju,very strange that no one has been posted, so who will bell the cat in JMC till then.
Dengue cases had risen in Jammu City, the Jammu Municipal Corporation started thermal fogging drive in collaboration with Malaria wing of health department in the city under which entire city will be covered as per the calendar devised by the corporation.
Reportedly Gangyal, Digiana, Nanak Nagar, Trikuta Nagar and adjoining areas were covered today under thermal fogging drive but seems wrong Peoples of Trikuta Nagar, Sector, 3,4,2 , Basant Vihar etc. said they have not seen so.
The Corporation has devised a calendar for the fogging to cover the whole city. The drive is launched to bring down the vector density of adult mosquitoes and to reduce impending danger of spread of mosquito born diseases.The JMC also issued an advisory as per which general public, especially the old age and those allergic to smoke/asthmatics, have been requested to remain indoors during thermal fogging.
The JMC also requested the people to follow the preventive measures like staying in well-screened houses, wearing protective clothes, using mosquito repellents and nets and reducing mosquito habitats and breeding places.
