NEW DELHI, Dec 13: Minister for Transport Abdul Gani Kohli paid surprise visit to SRTC Office at Tees Hazari and Sarai Kalikhan here today and reviewed the functioning of these office besides the facilities being provided to the passengers.
Minister also inspected head office of JKSRTC at ISBT New Delhi where he found a Senior Assistant, Zahoor Ahmad absent from duties without proper permission. He ordered attachment of the official with the head quarter at Srinagar/Jammu with immediate effect.
While speaking to Cross Town News ,Transport Minister AG Kohli said that I have directed the concerned officers to maintain proper office records and submit quarterly report to the head quarter.
He directed the concerned to ensure plying of buses from New Delhi to Katra on daily basis to facilitate the pilgrims visiting the Holy Cave.
Interacting with the staff in these offices, the Minister exhorted upon the field functionaries of SRTC to work with dedication for providing better services to the passengers. He said “SRTC is a corporation and all out efforts should be made to make it a profitable one.”
He asked the concerned staff to ensure frequent checks of the buses on different roads for plugging in the revenue loses. “The government would not tolerate any kind of corruption in the Corporation and officials found indulging in any such practice will be dealt sternly”, the Minister cautioned.
