JAKEDA organizes Business meet on Thermal Technology in Jammu

JAMMU, Dec 11- J&K Energy Development Agency (JAKEDA) in association with the Union Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE), organized a business meet on Concentrated Solar Thermal (CST) Technology, here today.

 

The meet was aimed at highlighting the applications of CST in industrial, commercial, institutions and establishments for hot water, community cooking, process heat, laundry and space heating in the state.JAKEDA has identified potential sites for CST applications both in Jammu and Kashmir regions of the State. The survey of the sites was carried out by M P En systems–a Mumbai based Consultant engaged by MNRE for JAKEDA. JAKEDA intends to prepare 30 DPRs for various institutions of the state like orphanages, jails, educational institutions, police & military academies etc.

 

The DPRs would be submitted to the MNRE for funding and would attract 60% subsidy from the MNRE subsidy and 15% under the UNDP-GEF CST project. The state would also pitch in with a subsidy of up to 15 percent for such projects.

 

The business meet was attended by Dr. A.K Singhal, National Coordinator UNDP-GEF project, MNRE, Dr. R.P Goswami, Director, MNRE, Shafat Sultan, CEO, JAKEDA, representatives of Chamber of Commerce, Jammu, CST  manufacturers & consultants, prospective beneficiaries and officers of JAKEDA.
