Comm Secy IT J&K gets E-Governance award

JAMMU, Dec 08: Commissioner Secretary Information Technology, Technical Education and Youth Services and Sports Hirdesh Kumar has been conferred prestigious National Award of Excellence at CSI Nihilent e-Governance Awards 2014-15, at New Delhi for implementing the android based JKPULSE Project Monitoring Tool for online monitoring of various developmental works and schemes in J&K and taking a leap towards the model of smarter governance.    

 Out of numerous nominations from all over the country, three nominations were shortlisted by the panel of adjudicators for J&K. The three nominations included two from the Information Technology Department and one from the Election Department (By NIC)

The commissioner Secretary said that the department is working hard to implement many more similar initiatives and expressed that implementing Information Technology in J&K is a challenge and has to be realized in innovative ways. He stressed that the department under the leadership of Chief Minister and Minister for Information Technology is working on many such initiatives and the state shall see the results in days to come.

He added that only a few nominations were awarded the “Award of Excellence” which was cleared by the distinguished panel comprising of many senior IAS officers, experts and technocrats from around the globe. The Information Technology Department has earlier bagged many awards due to the dedicated efforts of entire team especially Senior Consultant, Munish Chandan.
