Vigilance produced challan against CA&PD officials, others in K.oil scam

JAMMU, SEP 7 :  Vigilance Organization, Jammu has produced Challan in case FIR No.22/2011 u/s 5(1) (c) (d) r/w section 5(2), J&K P.C Act Svt. 2006 and sections 409,420,467,468 and 120-B RPC before the Hon’ble court of Special Judge Anti-corruption, Udhampur against Shri Narinder Singh, the then Quota Clerk CA&PD Department.

 

In a statement vigilance said, “Udhampur  S/o Sh. Kehar Singh R/o Mukerji Bazar, Udhampur,  Sh. Tinder Pal Singh, the then Assistant Director CA&P Department, Udhampur S/o Sh. Teja Singh R/o 186 P Bakshi Nagar, Jammu, at present 214/6,

 

Channi, Jammu, Sh. Romesh Chander, the then Assistant Director CA&PD Department, Udhampur S/o Late Sh. Hari Chand R/o Village Parel Samba, Sh. Ghar Singh, the then Assistant Director CA&PD Department Udhampur S/o Sh. Saroop Singh R/o Patoli Brahamna,Jammu and others.

 

Brief facts of the case are that the instant case was registered in P/S VOJ on 23-09-2011 on the basis of verification conducted into the allegations of black marketing of subsidized K.Oil meant for Consumers of District Udhampur”.

 

Vigelnace further said that during the course of investigation on the basis of evidence oral and documentary, it was found that the accused CA&PD officers/officials by abusing their official positions and in criminal conspiracy with the stockiests and drivers have embezzled total quantity of 4,97, 200 ltrs if subsidized K.Oil which was meant for public distribution in district Udhampur thereby causing a loss of Rs.79,84,579/- to the state exchequer.

 

During the investigation the accused persons were examined/questioned, but they failed to given any plausible explanation in support of their defense.

 

After completion of the investigation the case was closed as proved and processed for obtaining necessary government sanction in respect of in service accused public servants as envisaged under section 6 of J&K P.C Act Svt.2006.

 

Accordingly, the competent authority accorded the sanction for launching prosecution against accused public servants in the court of competent jurisdiction. The next date of hearing in the case has been fixed for 27-10-2017. (PTK)
