Industries Minister warned Contractor/officials of stricts actions if samples collected used in construction of Drain in Jammu donot meet Quality norm


 

Industries Minister Ganga warned of Strict action if collected sample do not meet Quality norms in Jammu

JAMMU,Dec 07: Acting on complaints of the public about the use of  sub standard  material in the construction of deep drain along   Bari Brahmana – Badhori road in Barjani Minister for Industries and Commerce Chander Prakash Ganga today inspected the construction site and directed the concerned to collect the samples and send them for   quality test  .

Ganga warned of strict action against the  concerned contractor/officials if the samples collected failed the required quality norms .

Meanwhile, the Minister also inspected the other ongoing development work in the area and directed the officers to monitor the works closely and stressed that there should be no compromise  with the quality of work and material used for the construction purpose.
 

Later the Minister convened a meeting to review the implementation of various welfare schemes being implemented  by Women Development Corporation and Rural Development Department for the upliftment of women in district Samba.

Ganga directed the concerned officers  to generate awareness  welfare schemes of State as well as Central Government for Socio-Economic Upliftment of Women with a special focus on the families living Below Poverty Line (BPL) & Women belonging to Minorities, Backward & Other Classes. He also directed them to ensure proper participation of women of the district in National and State level exhibitions  of handicrafts and , handlooms items providing them the requisite exposure .

The Minister also asked the officials of Jagriti Mahila Udyog Kendra, an NGO to organize training and awareness camps in rural areas so that women can avail the benefits of various government schemes .Among others, MD, Women Development Corporation, J&K, Dr Naheed Soz, State Nutrition officer, Rural Development Department, Pramila Gupta, President, Jagriti Mahila Udyog Kendra, Veena Bakshi were present in the meeting.
