Rajendra visits remote areas of Reasi, Ramban Stresses on behavioural change, better deliverance

 

JAMMU, Dec 01: Stressing on better deliverance and attitudinal change in policing Director General of Police (DGP), Mr. K. Rajendra Kumar has asked the cops to live up to the expectations of the people by paying proper heed to their grievances. He said public friendly policing is the main factor to win the minds and hearts of people.

Mr. Rajendra was on his day long visit to the far-flung areas of Reasi and Ramban districts today. He said that with the changing time police has to bring innovative changes in their procedures and behaviour which could lead the force to achieve creditable results.

During his visit, Mr. Rajendra visited remote police stations of Mahore, Gool and Chasana. He interacted with the cops and asked them to maintain rapport with the public by addressing their grievances. He said that people’s cooperation is imperative for police to detect crimes and bring culprits to justice. He also interacted with the public in these areas and assured that Jammu and Kashmir Police will remain always on fore front in the service of the people and the Nation. He said that society has a vital role to eradicate social evils and other menaces.

Later, DGP chaired officers’ meeting of twin districts at Reasi to discuss aspects of policing in these areas.

DIG, Doda-Ramban Range, Mr. Nisar Ahmed and concerned district Superintendents of Police briefed the DGP about the present scenario in these districts.

Mr. Rajendra asked the officers to make coordinated efforts with other security agencies to thwart the attempts by subversive elements of engaging the youth in anti-social activities. Input sharing is imperative for achieving desired results. He asked the officers to involve the youth in community policing which could help in channelizing their energies in a better way.

Mr. Rajendra complimented the Jawans and officers of JKP for their dedicated role in maintaining law and order and security of the people in their respective areas. He said that people’s security is our prime concern and this aspect of policing is being focussed on priority to bring innovative changes in our day-to-day working.

The DGP stressed on good deliverance and quick disposal of public grievances at Thana level, saying that people expect greater role of police in minimising their hardships. He asked the officers to be serious and dedicated towards their job by ensuring good public service.

The DGP was accompanied by IGP (Jammu Zone), Mr. Danish Rana, District SSsP, Mr. Sujit Kumar and Mr. Randeep Kumar, C.O. IRP 9th Bn., Mr. Rajesh Kumar Sharma, SP Trainings (PHQ), Mr. BA Shah and other police officers.
