Jammu, August 12 : Asserting that the matter of Article 35-A is sub-judice in the Supreme Court, Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister Dr.Nirmal Singh today slammed the National Conference president Farooq Abdullah for ‘politicising’ the issue and asked him to cooperate.
‘NC-Congress are overreacting on Article 35-A. They must understand that the matter is with the Supreme Court and we must wait for the verdict,’’ Dr Singh told reporters at the sidelines of a function here.
Person like Dr Farooq Abdullah, who says that stone pelters are part of the movement, is unfortunate,’’ he said adding, ‘’they must cooperate in sorting out the matter.’’
So far as the stand of the Government is concerned, we are following Agenda of Alliance wherein it has specifically been mentioned that status quo will be maintained on constitutional matters.’’
The matter is sub-judice. Some people have approached to the Apex Court and let us wait for the verdict,’’ Singh said.
The Government in Jammu and Kashmir is running on Constitution basis and we must have faith in the Court.
