RAJOURI, AUGUST 08: District administration today refuted a news item carried in an English daily regarding issuance of permits for transportation of bovines by Tehsildar Thanamandi.
District Magistrate, Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary who very recently banned issuance of permits for transportation of animals even by the nomads had directed all concerned authorities to stop issuance of permits till September 15.
Tehsildar Thannamandi, Shahid Iqbal has strongly refuted the news that he issued permits for transportation of bovines after a blanket-ban by district administration. He has termed the news items alleging his involvement in smuggling of bovines as baseless and malicious.
Soon after the news surfaced in ‘English daily’ dated 08.08.2017 and in some WhatsApp News Groups, the District Magistrate asked Tehsildar Thanamandi to submit the factual report in the matter.
The concerned Tehsildar, vide communication No WBN/147/17 dated 08.08.2017, informed that the order issued by the District Magistrate regarding regulation and temporary prohibition of transportation of bovines has been implemented in letter and spirit and not even a single permit has been issued by him after 30th June 2017.
Meanwhile, the concerned reporter has been asked to submit facts on the basis of which, he carried the news about issuance of permits for bovine transportation by Tehsildar Thanamandi despite the ban imposed by the district administration has been carried.
