Srinagar, July 30: Some online news had publicized that PDP leader Muzaffar Hussain Beig had said that government has been unable to utilise central funds for development of the state due to corruption in lower ranks of administration.
Beig said that the Centre had sanctioned Rs 19,000 crore for the state this year, but we are not able to spend this amount because our officers are weak.
He added that, he did not know about the state of affairs at higher levels of the administration, but corruption was prevalent in lower levels.
He urged Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to ensure that the officers be held accountable.
Lot of officers reacted on this & spoke to Managing Editor, CTN & showed their displeasure on the observations of Beig.
Pertinent to mention here that, if lower rank officers are not working than who is working on ground to complete prestigious projects.
Is Ministers/top officers are working in the far flung areas for thousands of executions, if lower rank officers are weak?
Only they use to move in AC cars on govt. expenditure & thereafter claim TA/DA. What facility is being provided to lower rank officials? Reward of like these words of Beig, which he had fired is openly condemned by Cross Town News.
It is a question mark on the working of such officers, who work day & night in executions in odd situations.
