Vigilance organization booked Revenue officials on corruption charges in Jammu

SRINAGAR, July 29: On the basis of an enquiry conducted by Vigilance Organization to probe into the allegations regarding misuse of official position by revenue official namely Ram Lal  then Girdawar posted in Niabat Khour and Patwar Samwan who had acquired huge immovable assets in the shape of land (immovable property) for his personal gain by way of illegally transferring and mutating land in the name of his sons and other family members, reads a statement issued by Vigilance .

 

"During the course of verification, it is found that then Patwari Halqa Samwan namely Sat Paul S/O Late Shri Chattru Ram R/O Village Khara, Tehsil Khour in connivance with Ram Lal S/O Shri Sain Dass R/O Village Kachrial Tehsil & District Jammu, then Girdawar had made illegal Girdawari entries in  Khasra No. 32 for the land measuring 36 kanal situated at Village Kachrial in the names of sons of accused Ram Lal(then girdawar) namely (1)  Ganesh Kumar, (2) Surinder Mohan, (3) Kamal Dev all R/O Kachrial, however as per the revenue record,  the said piece of land was recorded as Maqbooza Punjab Singh Bali, Inder Singh in equal shares with Mst. Beero Devi, Raj Singh, Janak Singh measuring 189 Kanal and 01 Marla Gair Mumkin Khad and 24 Kanal 12 Marla Banjar Kadeem", it adds.

 

"Further enquiries reveal that accused Ram Lal and his above mentioned sons have cultivating possession over 60 Kanal 09 Marla of Shamilat land in village Kachrial despite the fact that they are not "Jadi Malkan" of village Kachrial and have no right over shamilat land as only "Jadi Malkan" can have  claim over the Shamilat land. The family of Ram Lal has 291 Kanal 16 Marla of land in village Kachrial and Panjtoot in Niabat Khour which is above the ceiling limit of 100 Kanal of land prescribed under Agrarian Reforms Act.

 

Taking cognizance of the matter, case FIR No. 25/2017 P/S VOJ u/s 5 (1) (d) r/w 5(2) J&K PC Act 2006 and Section 120-B RPC has been registered in Vigilance Organization, Jammu  on the prima facie establishment of offences on the part of  Ram Lal (then Girdawar) S/O Shri Sain Dass R/O Village Kachrial, Tehsil Khour & District Jammu, Sat Paul (then Patwari) S/O Late Shri Chattru Ram R/O Village Khara Tehsil Khour,Patwar Halqa Samwan and others. Further investigations are going on into the matter", the statement adds.  (PTK)
