Stone pelting incidents in valley declined by half : DG CRPF


 

SRINAGAR, July 27: CRPF Director General Rajiv Rai Bhatnagar today said that stone pelting incidents in the valley has declined by half.

 

Speaking at the 78th anniversary celebration of the force CRPF, Director General said that this year, only 424 stone-pelting incidents have been reported while as last year it was 1,590 incidents.

 

When asked, he attributed the decline to Central government policies and combined effort of security and intelligence forces and agencies.

 

He said, “Combined effort of the security forces, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and all agencies including National Investigation Agency (NIA) has made this happen”.

 

Bhatnagar pointed out that CRPF is closely working with J&K police to deal with Law & Order situation in the state, particularly stone pelting. He adds that CTPF is properly trained to handle situation; maintaining restraint, using proper strategy and equipment. (PTK)
