Anti-encroachment drive has been started in Kathua district: DC

KATHUA, Nov 08:Deputy Commissioner Kathua Ramesh Kumar convened a meeting of officers and reviewed functioning of revenue department.Assistant Commissioner Kathua Revenue Atul Gupta, SDM Basohli Gurmukh Singh, SDM Billawar R.S Charak, SDM Bani Rajesh Basotra, SDM Hiranagar Sohan Lal, Tehsildar HQ, Tehsildars of all Tehsils, Naib-Tehsildars and officials of revenue department were also present during the meeting.In the meeting, DC reviewed the action taken with regard to the last meeting’s agenda related to revenue matters which include land acquisition cases, encroachments,  preparation of Jamabandi, PRC, Relief Cases, Mutations, Giradawari’s and other revenue related matters were widely discussed during the meeting.

 

DC passed instructions to Tehsildars to personally visit the field areas and redress complaints and grievances related to revenue matters and general problems of public like power, water supply, health. He also directed Tehsildars to seek monthly work done report from the concerned Patwari and Girdawars of respective areas to speed up the work within time frame. Further Tehsildars were asked to ensure availability of patwaris in their respective patwark-hanas as per the duty roaster.

 

It was informed by Tehsildars in the meeting that anti-encroachment drive has been started in Kathua district and during the last month, a total of 1178 Kanals and 19 Marlas of state land and 509 Kanals and 12 Marlas of Kah-charai land were retrieved from different tehsils of district Kathua. DDC laid stress on revenue officers for removal of encroachment especially from Kah-charai and state land and expedite the process of anti encroachment drive. Further directions were passed to Tehsildars to keep strict vigil on conversion of agriculture land for non agriculture and commercial purposes.DC directed SDM’s to conduct week long cleanliness drive in the municipal areas from 12th to 19 Nov. The directions were passed to SDM’s to conduct monthly meeting of revenue officers in their respective areas.

 

Tehsildars were directed to maintain record of their tour diaries and their timely submission and make proper roaster of Patwaries for field visit and display the roaster and Public Service Guarantee Act outside the tehsil office. DC further directed tehsildars to submit utilization certificates of works done under SDRF and conduct monthly meetings of lambardars and Chowkidars.DC directed tehsildars to submit polling station wise inclusion and exclusion list and progress report of BLO’s regarding the filling of forms 6, 7 and 8.

 

He exhorted that the pendency of work shall be met before the next review meeting and no further delay in disposal of revenue matters shall be tolerated. He also instructed revenue officials to work with zeal and dedication and to adopt procedure to bring transparency in the working of revenue department.Later on DC convened a Private Negotiation Committee (PNC) meeting of collectors with the land owners  persons interested in presence of officials of NRSS and indenting department for acquisition of land for installation of towers for 400kv line under NRSS.
