PM’s announcement is more a ‘packaging’ than a package-Congress

JAMMU, Nov 07:Prime Minister Narinder Modi’s announcement of Rs.80,000 crore for the state, which includes the cost of several already approved  and ongoing development projects, is  a sort of more a ‘packaging’ exercise than the package.

Reacting to the visit of Prime Minister Shri Modi and his announcement of package of Rs.80,000 crore for the state, JKPCC Chief Spokesman Mr. Ravinder Sharma said that it is being understood that the total cost of several ongoing projects and other approved projects by the UPA Govt. have been ‘packaged’ to sum up the figures. He said  that the further details and breakup of the package would clearly demonstrate the real picture in this regard.

He regretted that the Prime Minister failed to refer to the prevailing situations  in the State especially in Kashmir Valley and the continued cease fire violations by Pakistan on the LOC and  borders and incidents of infiltrations from Pakistan leading to numerous causalities and frequent migration of border residents in  the state, since the NDA Govt. took over. He has failed to send a clear message to Pakistan or reflect on the road map to deal with the situation to restore peace in the State especially the borders with Pakistan. He has forgotten the promises with people of the State to restore peace and calm in the borders and tell Pakistan to stop innocent killings in the State.

Mr. Modi has failed to reassure the people of the State that forces of hatred would not be allowed to further vitiate the atmosphere of peace and religious brotherhood in the State and elsewhere in the country, where the intelligentsia have been expressing serious concern over the prevailing atmosphere of religious intolerance in the Country.
