Srinagar, June 19: Anantnag town is observing a complete shutdown today on the death anniversary of Ummat e Islami founder, Qazi Nisar Ahmed.
Chairman Ummat e Islami Qazi Ahmad Yasir on Wednesday had called for a shutdown in south Kashmir on June 19 to commemorate the 23rd death anniversary of his father and party founder Qazi Nisar Ahmad.
One of the popular religious and political leaders of his times, Qazi Nisar was killed by unidentified gun men at Dialgam village near Anantnag town on June 19, 1994.
