NEW DELHI,Nov 04: Justice TS Thakur will be the next Chief Justice of India.He belongs to Jammu and his father was Minister in J&K government.
Chief Justice of India, HL Dattu, who will retire on December 2, has recommended the name of Justice Thakur, the senior most judge as his successor.Sources told Cross Town News that The Centre will now process the recommendation and then send it for approval of the President and then a notification will be issued.
Justice Thakur will have a tenure of one year and one month as the Chief Justice of India and will retire on January 3, 2017.
Justice Thakur was elevated as a Judge of the Supreme Court in 2009.
