Avail benefit under flagship welfare schemes and programmes like Laadli Beti, MGNREGA and Nirmal Bharat Abhiyan: Lal Singh

KATHUA, Oct 30: Minister for Health and Medical Education Ch. Lal Singh kick started the blacktopping work of 4.2 km Dhanore Link Road on Lakhanpur –Thein road here in Kathua today.While speaking on the occasion the minister said that this was the long pending demand of the people of the area and will give great relief to the villagers connecting by this link.

         

The minister informed that the road link was taken up under PMGSY and Rs. 126.99 Lac  stands expended on this link in first phase while Rs 112.05 lac have been sanctioned for second phase.Responding to the demand of route permit for public transport in the area, Ch Lal Singh assured that provision for public transport will be made at the earliest. He said roads are vital for development of any area, adding that every effort is being made by the Government to connect all unconnected and inaccessible areas through a road network.

         

He stressed for availing benefit under flagship welfare schemes and programmes like Laadli Beti, MGNREGA and Nirmal Bharat Abhiyan etc to improve their socio economic conditions. He said government is working on well knit plan to uplift the socio economic conditions of people living below poverty line.The locals also apprised the minister about the shortage of drinking water in the locality and demanded dug well to overcome water deficiency in the area.  While responding to the problems, Ch. Lal Singh directed the PHE department to make DPR of the project so that the drinking water needs of the people can be addressed on priority.XEN PMGSY, AEE PHE, CMO Kathua, officers, Sarpanchs, Panchs and locals were also present on the occasion.
