Regularize PHE daily wagers of Jammu division:Panthers Party

UDHAMPUR, May 11: Lodging a strong protest over shortage of potable drinking water in Udhampur town, Panther Party’s state president and former MLA Balwant Singh Mankotia reminded the BJP-PDP coalition govt to fulfill the promises by regularizing the PHE daily wagers of Jammu region. He blamed that coalition govt is not keen to fulfill the promises made by their leaders during 2014 elections and after passage of three years, regularization process of daily wagers still hangs in balance.

Haq-insaaf yatra for separate statehood for Jammu region was carried out in Udhampur town on Thursday which passed through Salathia Chowk, Court road, Ramnagar Chowk, Mookerjee Bazar, Gole market and culminated at PHE office Udhampur. Led by Panther Party’s state president Balwant Singh Mankotia, workers lodged a strong protest dharna over shortage of potable drinking water in Udhampur district and raised slogans against the coalition government of state.

Balwant Singh Mankotia while addressing the gathering lashed out at the dilly dally policies of the coalition government due to which thousands of PHE daily wagers youths serving the department with meager numeration of Rs 500 hundred from 15-20 years are still not regularized and their carrier is on stake. The PHE daily wagers are continuously demanding the government to regularize them but like predecessors, present coalition govt is not paying any heed towards their genuine demand, regretted Mankotia.

Panther Party’s state president Balwant Singh Mankotia said that daily wagers are in hope that BJP will fulfill the promises and voted him to power but unfortunately BJP failed to address the genuine demand of PHE daily wagers. According to government figures, thousands of youth working as daily wager in PHE department from Jammu region are getting mere Rs 500 numeration per month while their counter part in Kashmir are getting Rs 4500 per month regularly which is a sheer injustice with the youth of Jammu region and demanded early regularization of PHE daily wagers.

Mankotia strongly criticized the attitude of the PHE department in Udhampur as people are making hue and cry in the district for acute shortage of potable drinking water and officials of the department are in deep slumber. He blamed that irregularities have been made in water scheme of Rs 28.84 crore launched for Udhampur town and demanded high level inquiry for misuse of funds provided for said scheme.
