Jammu & Kashmir Youth Congress “”YUVA AKROSH YATRA”” enters 5th day reaches Reasi, Udhmapur

 

JAMMU,Oct 16:After receiving a huge response from the public at Kathua, Samba, Jammu, Rajouri and Poonch districts, “ Yuva Akrosh Yatra”  a mass movement organised by Pradesh Youth Congress, against the  growing unemployment and other youth related issues, on the fifth day covered Reasi and Udhampur districts. Through this mass movement,   PYC urged the government to abolish the new recruitment 2015  policy and adopt fair and merit based policy to recruit the youth. Also, this Yatra is aimed at expressing solidarity with the thousands of daily wagers and NYCs sitting on hunger strike across the state.

Dr. Uma Shankar Pandey IYC, Incharge J&K, Pranav Shagotra State President, Sh. Jugal Kishore Sharma MLC,  Satish Sharma ji , Paramjit Singh ji , Rajvir Singh, State Gen. Secretaries and Vinay Sharma LYC President led the rally at Katra. Hundreds of students and youth joined the Yatra at Katra and Udhampur and marched in the towns raising slogans against the BJP-PDP government. Senior Congress Leader Sh. Jugal  Kishore MLC addressed the Yatra at Katra.

Rajan Sharma PYC Secretary, Sandeep Singh, Chetan Wanchoo Spokespersons, Loksabha Gen. Secys Pankaj Sharma , Rajeev Gupta, Ashwani Sharma, Rakesh Kumar Bodhi, Varun Magotra LYC Gen Secy, , LYC Secys, Jagjot singh , Sachin Gupta, Assembly Presidents Jagdish Singh, Amit Sharma, Om Parkash, and AYC vice President, Mithun Bharti coordinated the programme and  joined the Protest.Jasveer Kour Secretary JKPCC,  Ravi Shastri, Manav Uadaya, Rita Singh and Shivam Sharma, senior congress leaders also joined the Yatra at udhampur.

Addressing the gathering, Pranav Shagotra, PYC Chief said that, by introducing the latest Recruitment Policy 2015, under which one has work for the first five years as a contractual employee on lesser wages, a great harm has been done to the careers of the educated youth of the state. “It is a great injustice and the government should not play with the careers of the youth” PYC Chief strongly urged the government for scraping of this draconian policy and added that “this is an anti-youth recruitment policy and a total deviation from the promises that were made by PDP and BJP leaders during their election campaign.

Speaking to the PYC activists, Dr. Uma Shankar Pandey IYC, Incharge J&K, lambasted the government for ignoring the youth of the state in the new system. He revealed that the present government of BJP and PDP has abandoned many important employment schemes introduced by the earlier government including the NYCs. This government has disengaged the daily wagers and is not implementing the decisions of earlier collation government. He urged the PYC activists to get united and not to stop till the government agrees to the popular demands of the youth of the state including the scraping of recruitment policy 2015.

            He further added that the present dispensation has exploited the youth for votes but have failed to keep their pre poll promises. He said that BJP has made a complete sell out for power and this is the worst kind of political cheating, especially with people of Jammu.Tomorrow morning, the Yatra will proceed to Ramban  and Doda districts.
