JAMMU, Mar 22: Public Works Department (R&B) of the J&K Government has ordered functional and technical amendments in the nomenclature of its engineering cadre and subsequent implementation of the same.
Nomenclature of Chief Engineer in the department has been changed to Director General Works and the post shall now fall under administrative nomenclature.
As per reports in leading Newspaper,the nomenclature of the Junior Engineers has been changed to Engineer in Charge or Site Incharge while Assistant Engineer has been designated as Assistant Works Commissioner.
Nomenclature of AEE has been changed to Deputy Works Commissioner, Xen to Works Commissioner, SE to Additional Director General Works and Chief Engineer as Director General Works.
