Massive effort underway to ensure basic amenities for all: Kavinder Speaker announces Rs 20 lakh for development of Preet Nagar

JAMMU, MARCH 05 - Reiterating Government's commitment towards ensuring basic amenities for all, Speaker J&K Legislative Assembly, Kavinder Gupta today said multiple initiatives are underway to strengthen public infrastructure and tangible results will soon be visible on ground.

The Speaker said this while addressing a public meeting at Preet Nagar, Jammu which saw participation from large number of locals from surrounding areas. 

Kavinder Gupta said efforts are underway to reinforce public infrastructure and ensure availability of all basic amenities to the public of the area. He said multiple projects have been launched to revamp the drainage systems in Gandhi Nagar Constituency to make sure that highest sanitation standards are achieved.

“Work for over 20 Km drainage network has already been completed in the area besides multiple projects for road network development are being executed”, he added.

Responding to the demands put forth by the public including development of road network, street lights, drainage development, public transport connectivity, water supply, sanitation among others, the Speaker announced a package of Rs 20 lakh from his CDF to redress the immediate concerns in Phase-I of development of the area.

He further said that a systematic development plan for the area will be formulated and undertaken on priority. He assured the people that all their genuine demands will be taken up at appropriate forums and resolved at the earliest.

Earlier, the Speaker inaugurated DRS Kids School at Chowadi, Sainik Colony. 

MLA Samba, Dr Davinder Kumar Manyal was also present on the occasion. 

Speaking on the occasion, Kavinder Gupta said that preschools are the first step for child's development and focus needs to be paid as much on personality development, moral value development as on theoretical knowledge.

He further said that from a young age, children should be made aware of the State’s rich history, heritage and of the stories of great warriors, intellectuals that the nation has produced so as to inspire them to become contributors to nation’s and society’s development.
