DGP Sanctions Scholarships For 324 Meritorious Police Wards

SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 28: Director General of Police (DGP), K. Rajendra Kumar, today sanctioned scholarship of Rs 11 lakh in favour of 324 meritorious police wards.

The scholarships were granted in different categories to the meritorious children. Mr. Kumar said the Department has introduced innovative schemes aimed to promote education among police children so that they can excel in different academic and competitive examinations. He said assistance is also provided regularly to the wards of deceased personnel.            

The DGP said scholarships are granted out of Central Police Welfare Fund for the meritorious wards. Under this scheme the wards are granted scholarship for every academic year from primary level up to post graduation and for technical courses as well.
