JAMMU, Sep 27: Former Minister and senior Congress leader Raman Bhalla today said that coalition Govt has miserably failed to address the issues of youth and has shown no concern for the welfare of the youth of the state in their tenure in Govt so far and brought no innovative schemes for the gainful employment as also the employability of the youth of the state. Bhalla was addressing well attended public gathering in Gangyal area of Gandhi Nagar constituency after several youths joined Congress here today.
While welcoming the new entrants into the party fold Bhalla hoped that their joining will strengthen the party in their respective areas. He appealed the new entrants to work for the upliftment of down-trodden & poor and take up the local issues with the concerned authorities for their redressal. He said that the coalition partners lack close coordination for the betterment of the people of the state & has shown no significant achievement in the various sectors of development in general and remote and hilly areas in particular. He said that some vested interests are hell bent to create confusion among the peace loving people on religious & regional basis by raising emotional slogans but, the secular forces in the state have to come together to give befitting reply to such nefarious elements.
Speaking on the occasion, Bhalla appealed the Govt to lay special emphasis on fast tracking the process of recruitment within the state Government as also creating new viable opportunities for self employment of the youth within and outside the state. He said the initiatives in respect of providing seed capital and arranging mortgage free loan at nominal interest rates should be provided to unemployed youth in the state. Bhalla demanded from the central government that a conducqaive industrial package should immediately be given to the state so that the industry of the state is flourished and the problem of Unemployment also be eased. He said that the State is passing through difficult times with self seekers and anti-people elements taking centre-stage and therefore a duty has cast upon all to change the discourse under the banner of Congress and help in steering Jammu and Kashmir to political stability. He said a strong and vibrant Congress is answer to all the problems confronted to the State. Bhalla further said that State has immensely suffered due to vision-less policies and performance inertia of the divergent ideologies partners running coalition Govt in state.
He urged youth workers to intensify mass contact drive and make people aware about anti-policies pursued by the anti-people Government which resulted into accumulation of their problems. He regretted that there was complete mismatch between the Govt. announcements and physical delivery on the ground with the affected people struggling for basic amenities and essential commodities in various parts of the State.
He questioned as to where was the huge financial assistance and relief package being utilised as the people in majority of the areas had denied receiving any kind of relief or aid from the government. He sought justice for all regions of the State and castigated the State Government for discriminating against Jammu region even in the matter of evaluation and assessment of losses where all the ten districts were facing deprivation neglect and Govt. apathy. He said that the governance failures writ large in almost every field, adding to the miseries of each and every section of the society. The government has failed to ensure delivery at the basic levels like availability of ration, power, health, education sector & unemployment besides rehabilitation of flood affected people and the farmers. The employees of different categories including teachers, daily wagers, casual and need based workers and other such categories of people are regularly seen on protests for their just and genuine demands. This kind of situation has disappointed every common man who is already facing the brunt as the prices of all essential commodities and items of daily use have increased manifold. He expressed serious concern in the wake of terrorist attack at Uri where eighteen securities personal have laid down their lives and several are injured to counter the terror attack. Paying rich tributes to the brave soldiers, Bhalla said that the attack has raised serious concern viz-a-viz over internal security and its handling by the Modi government.
