Bar Association Udhampur continues protest against ADC; Court issues notice to ADC in Criminal Complaint

UDHAMPUR, Sep 26:Continuing their protest against the ADC Udhampur Angrez Singh Rana, the members of District Bar Association, Udhampur today held a massive protest demonstration in the Court Complex against the erring officer. Addressing the gathering, Adv Surinder Khajuria, President, Bar Association, Udhampur informed that a General House Meeting of the Bar Association, Udhampur was convened today morning wherein it was decided that in view of the irresponsible behaviour and attitude of ADC Udhampur, the agitation be taken forward and as such they have decided to suspend the work for another two days and further course of action will be decided in the tomorrow.

While coming down heavily on the ADC Udhampur, Mr Khajuria alleged that the ADC Udhampur is hell-bent to sabotage the ongoing agitation by diverting the issue of his misbehaviour with the general public and the Advocates fraternity in particular by raking up baseless allegations agianst the members of the Bar Association. He further alleged that apart from being totally ignorant on law, the attitude of the officer is totally anti-public and there is great anger in common masses against the erring officer. He further said that the Bar Association, Udhampur will take the present agitation to its logical conclusion, as it has received support from the different Bar Associations of Jammu Province including that of JKHCBA, Jammu, Bar Association, Chenani, Bar Association, Ramnagar, Bar Association, Majalata and various other social organisations as well.

He also informed that a Criminal Complaint has also been filed in the Court of the District Judicial Mobile Magistrate, and the Court has also taken cognizance of the said Complaint filed by the Advocates and accordingly, a notice has been issued to the ADC Udhampur, directing him to appear in the Court on the next date of hearing.

He warned that if the demands of the District Bar Association, Udhampur are not met at the earliest, then the entire administration will have to face tough consequences.
